Looking to make a positive impact on Earth Day? Consider volunteering to help plant trees in the Borough of Coraopolis! Volunteers must be at least 16 years of age and can look forward to snacks and pizza provided during the event. It's a great opportunity to give back to the community and help make a difference for the environment.
The CCDC and Age-Friendly Coraopolis are organizing a community gardening project, where volunteers will be responsible for planting and watering a new perennial flower garden in the front yard of the Coraopolis Community Garden. Interested volunteers can contact Meryn Czepiel at meryn@corycdc.org. We hope you’ll join us!
Don't miss out on the excitement at the Annual Coraopolis Easter Egg Hunt this Sunday! With gates opening promptly at 1:45pm, you'll have plenty of time to prepare for the egg hunts that will take place every 15 minutes, starting at 2:15pm. The event will be organized in a manner that ensures the youngest kids get to participate first, followed by the older ones. You'll have a wonderful time hunting Easter eggs, and who knows, you might even find ones with special prizes! Make sure to mark your calendars and come join us for a fun-filled, family-friendly event!
Join Age-Friendly Coraopolis on an intergenerational trip to the Carnegie Science Center! Tickets are free with lunch included! Register by March 4th to reserve your spot. Register at Age-Friendly Neighborhoods: Carnegie Science Center (google.com).
Participants can meet us at the Science Center at 11am. We will also be providing transportation from Access leaving from the Coraopolis Towers at 10am.

Our August Second Saturday Festival is a celebration of the growing Latino population in Coraopolis. The CCDC is partnering with the Pittsburgh Hispanic Development Corporation (PHDC) on the first-ever Coraopolis Latin Festival.
The Coraopolis Latin Festival will feature live music from The Tropicabana Band and Noel Quintana and The Latin Crew. We will have authentic food and craft vendors. We will also have the Coraopolis Kids Zone with crafts and games for the kids. We hope you’ll join us for a wonderful celebration!

The Coraopolis Fall Festival & Art Walk will be held on Saturday, October 16, 2021 from 12pm-4pm.
Join us for the Art Walk, which will begin at Gilberti Fine Art Studio & Gallery at 1030 5th Avenue and feature local artists and artwork inside participating businesses.
Live music by James Claytor's Power of 3, food trucks, and Trunk-or-Treat by Coraopolis Youth Creations will be on Mill Street in-between 4th & 5th Avenues.
Crafters and vendors will be in the lot at 935 5th Avenue.

Keith Holmes VFW Post 402 and American Legion Post 924 will be hosting a parade through the streets of Coraopolis in honor of all of those veterans who have served in operations overseas since the September 11th attack. The hope is to highlight as many veterans as possible and honor their service in defending our nation. We hope you will help us honor them by attending.
The parade will be held on Saturday, September 11, 2021 - the 20th anniversary of the attacks on America, starting at 11:00am.
Coraopolis Community Development Corporation will host music and food on Mill Street following the parade.

Join us for a FREE COMMUNITY EVENT in celebration of all things fall on Saturday, October 17th from 12 pm - 4 pm in downtown Coraopolis. This event will offer family-friendly, socially-distanced outdoor activities on Mill Street, the lot on 5th Avenue, and various spots around the business district.
Kids will enjoy TRUNK-or-treating, pumpkin painting, and crafts. Food trucks Cilantro & Ajo and Jim’s Smokin’ Que will complement the Coraopolis restaurant scene and outdoor seating will be provided. Get ready to #SHOPCORAOPOLIS at the many stores offering fall specials and vendors setup outside.
Artwork by the Pittsburgh Society of Artists (PSA) will be displayed on shop windows located within the Coraopolis Business District. PSA's new member show will open at Gilberti Fine Art Studio & Gallery at 1030 5th Avenue.
Artist vendors from West Hills Art League will be setup in the 5th Avenue lot, across from Emma Jean's Relics.

Please join us for our next garden workday on SUNDAY August 13, starting at 9 am behind the Garden House located at 411 Broadway Street. We'll do some more work on the rabbit fence and harvest produce as needed. Learn about organic gardening from our expert volunteers, and enjoy the great oudoors while you help a good cause. Food harvested from the Community Garden supports the local food pantry.
